Perfume on your wedding day?

What perfume are you going to wear on your wedding day?

Some of my favorite perfumes are Princess by Vera Wang, Euphoria by Calvin Kline and Issey Miyake.

Pick a scent that is not overwhelming or too strong. People should never be able to smell you before they see you. :P

Tips on where you should apply perfume:
Apply the perfume to your pulse points: behind the ears, along the neck (where you'd take your pulse), on your inner elbow, on the inner wrist, and behind your knee. Always put your perfume on BEFORE you get dressed. The oils in perfume can stain and discolor your white wedding gown. If you get too much perfume on, put some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and wipe over a bit. Water will not take excess perfume off since most are oil based.

Wedding Day MakeUp Must Have - MAC Prep - Prime Review

We all want beautiful skin on wedding day. We all want to make sure our makeup will stay on for the whole day. We all want natural makeup and beautiful wedding pictures. Here is my review for this GREAT product - MAC Prep -Prime.

I've used MAC Prep - Prime as foundation base on my wedding day last year. My makeup artist was highly recommended this product. This is a superior product and it creates a smooth surface for foundation. The look is great on camera as well.
My makeup was stayed the whole day (from 9am to 11pm) without any major touchup. I only re-applied lip gloss before the reception started :) I don't even need to use oil blotter during the day :P

This product is GREAT. The thin white liquid spreads very evenly over the face, and creates a smooth surface for foundation. It absorbs nicely into the skin, also works great in place of moisturizer for any skin types. It works great at making your skin look smooth and matte.
This primer is best for normal to oily skin, and works the best at keeping shine away.

Bridal Emergency Kit

Prepare an emergency kit for your BIG day. You can ask your maid of honor to prepare one for you or you can simply do it yourself.

Chandeliers Wedding Centerpiece?

A nice floral centerpiece costs at least $30+. If you want to save some money or if flowers are not your thing. Go for bling instead, by placing a crystal chandelier centerpieces on each table for a "WOW" factor. I found this on ebay, and it is not expensive (like $10 each). Alot cheaper than flowers and no one will know this centerpiece costs only 10 bucks. What do you think?

I've attended a friend's wedding this year at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Moncia, CA. The location is perfect for a beach theme wedding!! Everything is so gorgeous and when I walked onto the ceremony deck...My first impression was "OMG!!! Wow...so pretty"

The bride & groom decided to move away from the traditional guest book and mix it up a bit with a "Wishing Tree". It was a big hit!! Also, they decided to have yummy cup cakes rather than a traditional tiers wedding cake. The beach chair favors are very cute, and the bride used them as a place card & beach theme wedding favors. What a 2-in-1 combination!! Good job!

Wedding Toasting Flutes

I fell in love with Swarovski toasting flutes when I was planning my wedding last year. They are so pretty but expensive ($390 a pair)!!!

I was so tempted to get it for my wedding. After talking to my wedding advisor who is also my best friend (Michelle), she gave me a very honest answer. She said "yes, they are so pretty, but I don't think your guests will notice your expensive flutes on the cake table. I rather spend the $390 on things that your guests will get notice like flowers, wedding cake, and chair covers." Yes, Michelle is right!! I'm sure my guests can see my flowers, taste my cake and feel the satin chair covers...haha :)

Have you setup a wedding budget?

Congratulations!!! You're engaged! Have you start any wedding planning yet?
The first thing you should do is to set a budget. And this is not an easy task.
Planning a wedding can be quite a challenge. It's even more difficult if you are on a tight budget. However, if you put some thought into how you're going to spend your money into different categories, make decisions about which caterer or which florist will be more affordable, then you won't overspend.

Here are some tips to planning your wedding budget:
a) Agree on the amount you’ve set for each category and agree you will NOT go over that amount. This is really important. Along the way, you will feel pressured to spend just a little more in every category to get the better product.
Don't do it!!! Spend what you agreed upon. I know it is hard, but try your best.

b) If you must overspend in one area, try to spend less on other areas.
For example, you really like the photographer whose charge you $500 more than what you’ve set for photography. Try to spend less on other areas like invitation, wedding favors and centerpieces. These items are easier to adjust.

Example:
Invite - Let say you want to spend $3.0 per invite and you need 150 of them. Mark it down to $2.50 and you’ll save $75
Wedding favors – Let say you want to spend $2.0 for each favor and you have 200 guests. Mark it down to $1.0 and you’ll save $200. There are many choices of favors for less than a dollar =)
Centerpieces – Let say you want to spend $45 per centerpiece and you have 20 tables. Mark it down to $35 and you’ll save $200. Trust me, you won’t notice a big difference between $45 & $35 centerpieces.

c) Do some research
Get quotes from at least 3 vendors for each category, compare the prices against what included in the packages. Also read the reviews from their previous customers as well. You may also ask friends/family what they spent for things that you liked at their weddings.

d) Pick one or two items that are the most important to you.
For my wedding, the most important things were photography and lighting. We spent $$$ on getting one of the best. The money was worth spent and after a year I still get complements from friends about how beautiful the lighting was at the reception hall and beautiful pictures.

A friend of mine spent nearly $6000 on her wedding gown! She chose to have a small wedding to be able to afford that. Make a choice about what matters most to you. What most defines a "perfect" wedding?

e) Negotiate with vendors
Don’t be shy. It doesn’t hurt to ask for discount. There is always room to negotiate with the vendors. For my wedding, I really want to have special lighting at the reception hall. And I sent email to 3 vendors who known to be great in the area. However, their quotes are really gave me heart attack ($3500+). The price was way too far from my set budget of $1500. So, I tried to negotiate with them and asked “what can you do for me in the amount of $1500?” After several conversations, they finally agreed with the price I set. I compared the original invoice ($3500++) with the latest one ($1500); I don’t really miss any items. I still had the custom gobo design, up lights, pin-spot lights and floral design on dance floor. I DO Letters - I bought these wooden letters from Michaels Store. (you can easily find them in any craft stores) And I used a glue gun to put each crystal-like beads on. I really like the way it turned out and I put them on my wedding cake table.

Flower Pens - I bought artificial flowers from Michaels Store. And I used a green sticky floral tape to tie the flower and the pen together. I also put a white satin ribbon to add the finishing touch. This project was so easy and fun. I put them on the sign-in table at reception.

I really love this idea! You can create a heart sharp as table centerpiece and also as wedding favors to thanks your special guests. Those little vases are very cute and inexpensive ($1) and you can put your favorite color flowers to match your wedding themes. They bring a beautiful touch to reception tables. They are so pretty looking, aren't they?
